The oldest official rating a cognac can hold, X.X.O stands for ‘extra, extra old’, and is a relatively new category that was officially added to the description of cognac ages in 2018. The minimum length of ageing to qualify for X.X.O status is 14 years. This elegant blend, however, contains some highly aromatic and refined spirits that have been aged in French oak barrels for more than 50 years.
