Founded in 1885 in Colle Val D'Elsa, in the province of Siena, the Masoni Pietro company is the oldest producer of traditional Siena specialties recently recognized by the PGI denomination: Panforte di Siena and Ricciarelli di Siena. The Ricciarelli di Siena PGI with almonds are a masterpiece of Siena sweet tradition, and were the first Italian dessert to obtain PGI certification. A delicate mix of peeled almonds, sugar and egg white, to obtain a splendid almond paste, then cooked briefly in the traditional diamond shape, the Ricciarelli Di Siena PGI are then dusted with icing sugar. Excellent with coffee, tea and dessert wines.
