In the new Dewar's 12 Years, the recipe remains unchanged. Instead, we have modified the double maturation process to increase smoothness and amplify existing flavor notes. The second stage of double maturation now takes place in 'active' first-fill bourbon barrels. First fill means we use them first and the oak retains much more aroma, releasing richer notes of vanilla, dried fruit and citrus in the whiskey. The new Dewar's 12 Years is made by the world's best master blender, Stephanie Macleod.
