Amber Empire became one of the first oriental fragrances introduced to the Western world in 1927 and, in its day, was a fascinating and foreign fragrance, "as mysterious and refined as the timeless Orient."

However, the 21st century eau de toilette Amber Empire, created by perfumer Maurice Roucel, is not so much exotic as cosmopolitan, contemporary, and devilishly sensual. Derived from a precious amber accord, Amber Empire is a melancholy and atmospheric fragrance, steamy and lingering, an oriental nouveau fragrance that combines the old world with the new.

A fresh, citrusy top note of bergamot joins Chinese magnolia and oolong tea before giving way to a base of vanilla, myrrh, ambroxine, and musk.

The oolong tea, so prized in Chinese tea rituals, possesses a distinctive delicate and earthy floral note and, in concert with a surprisingly pure concentration of white musk (70%), extracts the amber notes into a fascinating floral and totally steamy aura.
