Over the past 500 years, the vineyards of the Borderies, the smallest area of Cognac, have produced some of the greatest and most aromatic cognacs. Camus Borderies XO Family Reserve is a Single-Estate cognac produced exclusively from the Camus family's private vineyards. All wines come from this magnificent estate, the largest in the Borderies area with vineyards surrounded by forests and naturally preserved areas. The Camus family ensures that the vineyards are farmed in an ecologically sensitive manner while preserving the environment and wildlife.Each barrel is unique and the wines from each vineyard parcel are distilled and aged in separate barrels. During the aging process Camus keeps the spirits separate without mixing them. This allows Camus' head cellarer to blend these eaux-de-vie to create this intensely aromatic single-estate cognac. The first nose reveals the full scope of its rich range of aromas with a perfect balance of very aromatic fruitiness and floral notes and gourmet notes of pastry and vanilla. Rich and elegant with hints of light spices and cinnamon, the Camus Borderies XO Family Reserve develops perfectly in the glass showing a subtle and elegant character with delicate and persistent floral hints. In the mouth, a soft, buttery, pastry style with a round and elegantly textured mouthfeel of flowers, fruit, vanilla and a light dusting of sweet spices.
