Tenute Lunelli Auritea, Cabernet Franc, Costa Toscana I.G.T.

A pure Cabernet Franc, Auritea ranks at the top of Tenute Lunelli's Tuscan production. It is made from grapes from the "Olmo" vineyard on the Podernovo estate, and is aged for 18 months in barriques, before aging for another 12 months in bottles. Like all Podernovo labels, it is an organic wine. Soil type: medium texture, silty tending to clayey, rich in fossil shells of marine origin. Training system: spurred cordon, 5680 vines per ha. Production pe ha: 38 hl per ha. Pre-fermentation cold maceration at 12°C for 42 hours, maximum vinification temperature of 26°C - 28°C in steel. Maceration time: 20-25 days with light wetting of the cap in order to slowly extract the noble part of the tannins. Maturation: 18 months in French wooden barrels. Aging: at least 12 months in bottle.

First vintage of production: 2015.

VISUAL EXAMINATION
Bright and deep ruby red.
OLFACTIVE
The nose surprises with deep intensity, where hints of cocoa powder, blackcurrant jam and rosemary anticipate more spicy and balsamic hints.
TASTE
In the mouth the structure, solid and elegant, highlights the softness of the tannin and gives, in the finish, the savoriness given precisely by the fossil component of the soil.
