Among the rolling hills of Tuscany, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, we find the Casisano estate, where wine is a result of passion, experience and love for the magnificent Montalcino lands.
Casisano is located on a breathtaking natural terrace, at 480 meters above sea level overlooking the southern-eastern area of Montalcino, facing Sant'Angelo in Colle and the Abbey of Sant' Antimo.
In all, the estate covers 53 hectares of land, 22 of which are vineyards.
The perfect trio of altitude, wind and terroir converge to lend Casisano its characteristic features.
The altitude guarantees optimal ripening of the grapes. The cool northerly winds and the mild southwesterly sea breezes meet to generate exemplary temperature ranges. The soil, mainly galestro, shale clay and lime, enriches the wines with minerality and salinity. The combination of soils, different altitudes and vine ages offer an expansive range of aromatic expressions that we find in the Sangiovese Grosso.
Expressions that are further enhanced in the absolute tranquility of the cellar, where the Brunello rests in large Slavonian oak barrels.
The result is a vibrant and elegant Brunello wine, typical of its terroir; a perfect combination of structure, acidity and longevity.
Casisano is the distinct expression of Brunello wine that can be enjoyed today, while also giving us valuable insight into what tomorrow holds for the region.
