The Campocroce wine range is made from carefully selected grapes grown in the vineyards of the oriental Valpolicella hillside wine region. This area is characterised by clay and white biancone limestone soils that enhance the aroma of cherries and red berries, giving us wines of great body and structure, typical of these valleys.
Among the Campocroce wines the Valpolicella Superiore stands out of them: it is made of a selection of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella local grapes carefully hand picked and immediately processed preserving the essence and the best characteristics of such a rich soil. In the end of a long fermentation, about 20 days long, the wine ages in French oak barriques for 24 months at least.
Clear and lively ruby red color, Valpolicella Superiore at the nose is fruity with hints of blackcurrant, blueberries, medicinal herbs and Vanilla notes. Pleasant tannicity, also fed by a fresh sip and a sapid aftertaste at the end.
Its rich body together with the typical freshness of Valpolicellas and its elegant and complex bouquet make of this Valpolicella Superiore Campocroce a real gastronomic wine, versatile and good in enhancing meat dishes (either white or red), medium-aged cheeses and savory vegeterian recepies.
