This 12-year-old Aberlour was matured in two types of barrels. Traditional oak and Sherry oak casks. Specially selected each year, they are filled with whiskey and quietly aged for a minimum of twelve years; then the barrels are married together. Traditional oak casks encourage the development of Aberlour's subtle character, while Sherry oak casks add hints of golden ruby color and a deep, rich flavor to the whiskey. A perfectly balanced single malt with notes of fruit and spice.

The druids valued oak trees and water and believed you could hear the water spirits talking to each other. Aberlour is a Gaelic word meaning 'mouth of the chattering burn' (stream). Water and an oak tree still feature today on the Aberlour label.
