Biondi-Santi is the winery that created Brunello di Montalcino, and its Riserva was first produced in 1888, the parent vintage of the entire appellation. Since then, Biondi-Santi has released the Riserva only 41 times, in particularly exceptional vintages. Renowned for its extraordinary longevity, this wine is considered the most classic expression of Brunello di Montalcino. This wine, refilled in 1985, was chosen by the Italian Sommelier Foundation as the best Italian wine of all time on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy.
