Campomaccione Morellino di Scansano

Campomaccione Morellino is a wine born on the estate of the same name, an expression of the Zingarelli family's desire to explore an area where the winemaking tradition has ancient origins. In 1998, driven by a far-sighted entrepreneurial philosophy, Sergio Zingarelli purchased an 80-hectare estate to grow Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes: the estate in question now boasts modern plantings with 6,000 vines per hectare. The dry, hilly soils, combined with the warm, dry climate, favor the effective ripening of the grapes, while the brackish sea air is essential for the development of the specific aromatic characteristics that are transferred from the grapes to the wine. In this wine, as in others, the common thread that binds the winery's activities is Sangiovese, with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon for an incredible expression of quality. A wine for the whole meal, it is particularly good with first courses, savory appetizers and roasted red meats. Serve at 16/18°C.
