Conceived in 1989 as an "experimental laboratory," Atelier Versace focuses on innovation and research in design, materials and technology. The entire haute couture collection is created in Versace's Milanese atelier, beginning with aesthetic research and visionary design and culminating in hundreds of hours of meticulous handcrafting. Atelier has always represented a celebration of origins for Versace, a reminder of Gianni and Donatella's mother, a seamstress who passed on the family sartorial traditions from her atelier. The tireless pursuit of the highest quality materials and craftsmanship has resulted in the creation of a line of six exclusive and luxurious fragrances bearing the name Atelier Versace. They embody the Atelier's absolute dedication to excellence, encapsulating a studious approach to exceptional quality components, innovative techniques, craftsmanship and the distinctive Atelier Versace aesthetic. Evoking the sartorial savoir-faire of the Atelier, the fragrances are housed in entirely handmade packaging. The lighter, fresher fragrances are stored in clear glass glasses, while the more intense scents boast elegant black bottles. Made through an innovative twisting technique, the glass is embellished with the name of the fragrance written in gold tones. Handcrafted metal caps sport the three-dimensional Medusa motif. The sculptural bottles are packaged in paper boxes embellished with a hand-painted gold Greek key border. The boxes reveal a mirror that features the Atelier Versace logo painted in gold tones. Evoking an Italian summer, Figue Blanche was designed by perfumer Marypierre Julien, who strives to reveal something unexpected in the most familiar notes. She was inspired by the spirit of "la belle-vie" and Italy, "dolce far niente" which means bella vita, enjoying the sun, great wine and food, and the sweetness of doing nothing! Figue Blanche begins with top notes of Italian bergamot oil, Madagascar black pepper oil and Italian mandarin, which then give way to a heart of jasmine sambac absolute, rose absolute and a white fig accord. A base of carrot seed oil, Somalian frankincense, cedarwood and ambrettolide completes this unexpected floral-fruity eau de parfum.
