The entire haute couture collection is created in Versace's Milanese atelier, starting from aesthetic research and visionary design, up to hundreds of hours of meticulous manual workmanship. Atelier has always represented for Versace a celebration of the origins, a memory of Gianni and Donatella's mother, a seamstress who passed on the family sartorial traditions from her atelier. The tireless search for materials and craftsmanship of the highest quality has resulted in the creation of a line of six exclusive and luxurious fragrances that bear the name Atelier Versace. They embody the Atelier's absolute dedication to excellence, encompassing a studious approach to exceptional quality components, innovative techniques, craftsmanship and the distinctive aesthetics of Atelier Versace. Evoking the Atelier's sartorial savoir-faire, the perfumes are housed in entirely handmade packaging. The lightest and freshest fragrances are stored in clear glass glasses, while the more intense scents boast elegant black bottles. Made using an innovative twisting technique, the glass is embellished with the name of the fragrance written in gold tones. The handcrafted metal caps feature the three-dimensional Medusa pattern. The sculptural bottles are packaged in paper boxes embellished with a hand-painted gold-colored Greek key border. The boxes reveal a mirror that features the Atelier Versace logo painted in gold tones. Santal Boisé is made with Sri Lankan sandalwood that dominates the opening of the fragrance. The milky and balsamic scent is obtained from the roots and heartwood of the tree, which is cut into flakes and distilled as steam to give a pure essence of the wood. Creator Christophe Raynaud has enriched the woody notes with luxurious, amber Gurjun at his heart before a base of saffron and cypriol, a delicately flowered herb, adds a distinctive woody, smoky, and slightly oud note to this sensual Woody Eau de Parfum.
