Red wine
Sparkling or still red wine? Light or full-bodied? In this section you can find the best Italian fine red wines ideal for accompanying everyday dinners or important events with style and elegance. Red wine is obtained from the fermentation of the must of black grapes: the color is given by classic red wine-making, that is, by maceration and contact between the must and the skins, and the gradation varies from deep purple for younger reds to Bordeaux for aged ones. Each fine red wine hides a whole world of different grape varieties, soil and climate zones, winery practices and production philosophies, making each bottle unique. There are types of wine from particularly famous areas, such as red wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, and France that rival each other in elegance and aging potential, and other half-unknown niche wines with exceptional distinctiveness that can tell the story of the terroir of small, fine wine-producing areas.
And if, like Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, you also think that "Life is too short to drink mediocre wines," choose some particularly famous Italian red wines to go for sure, or be won over by some of our selections of foreign wines, which take you to distant lands .Barolo, Barbaresco or Dolcetto if you love Piedmontese reds, but also Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Sauvignon from Alto Adige, Trentino and Friuli, or the more classic Valpolicella, Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti, Brunello from Central Italy, passing through Sicilian Nero'Avola and Etna Rosso, without forgetting the excellent Sardinian red wines from Cannonau to Carignano del Sulcis, and then again Apulian Primitivo, Campania's Taurasi and Basilicata's Aglianico del Vulture. It's up to you to choose the one that responds to your taste or the evening you intend to organize, going for spirited, still, barrique or sweet reds that can please everyone.
